A flat wash is also when the windows of the flat are being washed.

I often use this for watercolor paintings. This time around, I painted several old cigar boxes with Ben Moore (house paint), which is acrylic. I am going to glue watercolor paintings on the lids. I used this kind of wax on the cigar boxes in addition to the paintings. However, I think I must have put too much wax on the boxes. It is kind of waxy to the touch. I'm afraid that the people I'm giving these gifts to will put their belongings in the box and they will become sticky. Is there any way to correct this or do I need to throw all these boxes out?

I bought the Arteza ones, just to try the medium, but i think i hate it now because of the pencils. I don't think they blend well and they always leave pencils marks no matter how lightly i draw. Is it my fault, or should i buy the faber castell ones? They are the only accessible wc pencils here. Thank you for the tutorial!! If you’re still working on a charcoal piece you need workable fixative

Keeping a damp hand towel nearby can help keep hands clean . Also Pitt graphite pencils are Matt and have no shine .

Something I recently discovered in a book that I haven't seen anybody else do is to use bar soap. You mix the colour you need then swirl it around on a bar of soap. It acts in the same way gum arabic does- it makes the paint thicker, more water soluble- but if you use a firm brush or a bristle brush, you can get some really cool bubbly effects too!

Thanks for your tutorials. I use polychromos over watercolours and that works out well . But also I use soluble graphite pencil . Some great hints here
